Smithville, Tennessee, in Dekalb County
At Tennessee Tech University’s (TTU) Appalachian Center for Craft, a satellite campus, students are exposed to both traditional and contemporary techniques in craft concepts and designs. Students focus on materials such as clay, fibers, glass, metals, and wood, and have the opportunity to exhibit their BFA work at the Center. In addition to student work, visitors to the Center will find contemporary and traditional fine craft by local Center artists as well as over 100 regional craft artists. As home to one of the premier retailers of fine craft in the Southeast, visitors will also find work from national and international craft artists at the Appalachian Center for Craft.
